Open Arms provides pregnancy testing, limited OB ultrasounds, client support, maternity and baby supplies, abortion pill reversal support, and post-abortion counseling. They are seeking those who are willing to work in receiving and organizing donations; in administrative support, grounds keeping, housekeeping, client services, fund raising, and technology support.
Henderson County Foster Care Association
The Henderson County Foster Care Association has a family resource center that provides clothing, toys, hygiene products and more - free of charge. They need help organizing the clothes closet and volunteers to be available as families visit to pick up clothes and necessities.
The Rescue Mission is more than just a shelter - they provide food, medical care, addiction recovery, and help with job placement and finding stable housing. They are looking for volunteers to help with the front desk, serving meals, speaking at chapels, leading devotions, and working in their clothing closet.
The Storehouse is a Christ-centered food pantry providing food and necessities for anyone in the Henderson County area with food insecurity. They are looking for volunteers (specifically on Wednesdays and Thursdays) to pray with people. They also need volunteers to answer the phone, pack food boxes in the pantry, help with deliveries, enter data, assist at special events or talk with clients and help them get the assistance they need.
Blue Ridge Prison Ministry reaches out to the incarcerated in our community with the love and care of Jesus Christ. They are both ministering in the local detention center and prison as well as caring for the families of those who are incarcerated through several events, group therapy, connections to resources, and mentoring children.
Back on Track is a ministry founded to reach out to those affected by addiction by providing education, spiritual guidance, support groups, and transitional housing. To fund their ministry, they run a resale shop.
The Henderson County Habitat for Humanity helps provide decent affordable housing for those who would not be able to attain it otherwise. Habitat is looking for volunteers to help build and repair homes, work in their ReStore or help with one of their committees.
The Bridge Church - First Responders Room
The Bridge Church has created a room for our first responders to be able to refresh and reset. They are looking for volunteers to help keep the room stocked and in order to meet the needs of our first responders.
Blue Ridge Honor Flight is responsible for flying veterans out to Washington D.C. to experience their memorials and then have a “welcome home” to remember when they return. They plan 2-3 flights out of the Asheville airport each year.
Good News Club - Henderson County
Good News Club (Child Evangelism Fellowship) brings the Gospel into our local schools to reach children with the hope of Christ in fun, engaging ways. In Henderson County, we currently have clubs at Clear Creek, Glen Marlow, and the Hope Center. They are looking for volunteers to help with these clubs and minister to students.
